Dr. Crystal McIntoshDr. Crystal McIntosh, D.D.S., M.S. is currently residing in Washington, D.C. and is a full time Associate Professor with tenure in the Periodontics Department at Howard University College of Dentistry. She received her B.S. degree at Howard University in May 2000, her dental degree from Howard University College of Dentistry in May 2006 and her M.S. degree from the University of Detroit Mercy in Detroit, Michigan in 2009. She is a Board-Certified Periodontist with the American Board of Periodontology and an active member of the American Academy of Periodontology, American Board of Periodontology, American Dental Education Association, and Omicron Kappa Upsilon. Dr. McIntosh currently serves as the Chair of the Department of Periodontology. Dr. McIntosh maintains an active clinical practice limited to Periodontics at the Howard University College of Dentistry Faculty Practice Plan performing routine, esthetic and regenerative procedures and placement of dental implants. Dr. McIntosh-Clarke’s research interests include the relationship between systemic diseases and periodontal disease and pregnancy. She has published several scientific articles and presented the results of her research locally and nationally. From 2013-2016, Dr. McIntosh embarked up her first love service to her global community. Mr. McIntosh conducted mission trips to Haiti and Nigeria. Each year she and 4 dental students provided oral health education and dental services i.e Extractions and dental cleaning to the impoverished areas of Ti Rivier, Haiti and Enugu, Nigeria. Although she had some accomplishments her greatest accomplishment is being a devoted wife and mother to her daughter. Dr. McIntosh-Clarke still has some professional goals to meet in the upcoming years and is excited to embark upon them with her fellow colleagues. |
